About Us

Mend the Broken Hearts Uganda (MBHU) is a registered indigenous Non-Governmental organization Reg no. 5050 and permitted to operate in Uganda -permit no.5454.

The organisation was founded by Tumwebaze Stephen and others in 2004 on a purely local initiative. The founders at that time had a great need to help orphans and other vulnerable children and their care givers out of their situation. Most of these orphans were as a result of deaths that were brought about by HIV/AIDs and extreme poverty that prevailed.

The organisation operates in south western Uganda in the districts of Kanungu, greater Mbarara, Ntungamo, Isingiro greater Kabale and Rukungiri. The organisation is led by a seven-member board which is elected by the annual general meeting.
