ABCE Programme

MBHU has adopted an asset-based community empowerment (ABCE) model that builds on the existing gifts and capacity of local people. This approach aims at stimulating production and wealth creation. This has been looked at as a path way to rural development by expanding the credit base of the local citizens. This is done by mobilizing communities into self-help groups who are empowered to pull locally from their sources and are boasted by the organization to increase the capital base of groups. This has helped to promote food security and income generation. Through this programme members pull their own capital and enable borrowing of members to finance inputs and assets that help households to increase production and business.
